HOW TO...
Make Google your default search engine
Posted Thu, 08 Aug 2002

Question
Somewhere I found a method for making Google my default (Internet) search engine (W2K/IE6). The other day I applied SP3 to my system and the default has now reverted to the standard MS search box and search engine choices. I do not want to use the Google tool-bar, and I cannot find (among my software and tweaks) whatever I did to make the previous change. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
If you're wanting to change the MSN default search engine you can look here:
http://www.google.com/options/defaults.html

Scroll down until you see "Make Google Your Default Search Engine" and look for the name of your browser download a file and reboot.
The "search" button will now bring up a Google search box down the left side of your browser.
